Why Viral Marketing?
Forrester released this information about consumer trust of online communications, see table below. Its super telling about 2 things that readers of this blog will appreciate:
1. No surprise: users trust emails coming from friends and family more than they trust any other source of online communication. This helps explain the very high open rate we see in viral applications (~70%).
2. Yes Surprise: users don't trust corporate blogs like this one. They trust them even less than mass corporate mailings.
My take aways are to keep this blog focused on the industry and the work, not on Oddcast AND to continue to tell the world about the value of Viral Marketing. After all, who can argue with results?
